How often should my dog be groomed?
This is a question that our groomers at Planet Groom are asked all of the
time and with our recent influx of new customers, we thought we’d offer some general rules for how to set up a regular grooming schedule for your doggo.
Phew!
Summer is here and we are SWAMPED!
Thank you to all of our clients, new and old, for keeping us so busy! We have received so many new clients that I thought it would be helpful to create a blog post giving potential visitors a highlighted list to provide a better idea of what to expect from us, here, at Planet Groom.
Over the past year, we have gained quite a few new clients. Many of whom, have either never owned a dog or have never owned a dog that needed regular grooming. The Covid-19 adoption boom is real and we are here for it! (For the record, it is probably the only “positive” thing to come out of this pandemic, so we’ll take it.)
2020 was a difficult year for everyone.
The first few months of the year were spent navigating what would become the “new normal” in the era of Covid-19. Covid-19 brought danger, fear, interpersonal issues, and also presented a difficult situation for small businesses -- ourselves included. We were fortunate enough to be given the go-ahead to reopen fairly soon after lockdown began and have, thankfully, remained open.
Lori was really hoping to have a big party with friends & clients to celebrate Planet Groom's 10th anniversary, but...covid 😪
Instead, Kim and I (Heather) surprised her with a low-key celebration! This beautiful cake is courtesy of Pawling's own, Sunflour Bakery!

If you are like us, you have a real love for Halloween and Spooky Season! We all want to take advantage of the frightening festivities, but oftentimes, that means we have to leave doggo behind. This year, Halloween has gone to the dogs! Covid-19 has complicated our being able to go out, so it’s a great opportunity to focus on creating fun at home (or at a safe event) with our dogs!
October 1st does not just mark the beginning of the spooky season, but it also welcomes Adopt A Shelter Dog Month. In America, there is an average of 3 to 4 million adoptable pets waiting to find their forever homes. Shelters and rescues are a great option when looking for a pet companion.
For those of you who don’t know, September is Responsible Dog Ownership Month and this week is National Dog Week! Planet Groom has yet to encounter anyone who doesn’t love their dog like family, but there are people who have never had a dog, before, and just don’t know where to begin!
When it comes to being a responsible dog owner, here are the basics:
Covid-19 has hit us all hard. For some, it has had awful physical consequences, which we can't even imagine, but for all, being subjected to quarantine and the "new normal", we've experienced mental and emotional exhaustion, as well as a need to become more flexible.
